William Tyndale was the first t translate the New Testament from the original Greek and Hebrew into English.  His translation minimized the language used by the Catholic Church to justify it’s existence, thereby labeling him a Protestant Heretic.  He was forced to live on the lam for several years, but was eventually caught and burned at the stake as a heretic.
